Donald W. Palmer

Lifetime North Fork resident, Donald W. Palmer, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded by his family, at his residence on Wednesday, November 20, 2019. He was 92 years of age.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Bethlehem Cemetery in Paonia with his daughter and son-in-law, Michele and David Murphy officiating.
Donald was born on February 5, 1927 in Englewood, Colorado. He grew up in Somerset. He attended school in Paonia graduating from Paonia High School with the Class of 1947 after serving two years in the United States Navy in World War II. He received 7 Battle Stars from invasions in the South Pacific. He played trombone in The Alpiners, Polka Band for many years.
Donald was a member of World Win Ministries in Delta, Wilson Head American Legion Post #97 and United Mine Workers of America.
Donald is survived by his wife, Ann Palmer of Paonia; his children: Michele (David) Murphy and William (Teri) Palmer, all of Delta; George Palmer and Peter (Melissa) Palmer, all of Paonia; and James Palmer and Pamela Palmer, both of Snowmass Village, Colorado; a sister, Sarah Jean (Russell) Jones of Richmond, Virginia; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elizabeth Palmer, and sister, Lucille Harvey.
The family suggests memorial contributions to be made in Donald’s memory to World Win Ministries, 1065 East 7th Street, Delta, Colorado 81416.
