Young child Nancy and sister Patricia went to a small country school where each row was a grade. One teacher for all seven grades. We had spelling “bees”. This was my favorite activity. There were no school buses- no taxies and very few cars. In the winter we could hear the telephone lines humming.
While visiting Colorado with friends in 1971 Nancy met a rancher by the name of Ronald Pittsinger at a family dinner. She returned home to Missouri. A knock came to the door and there stood Ron he proposed marriage and Nancy accepted. They were married in 1973 in a garden wedding in Delta, CO. A marriage lasting 32 years. Ron passed away in June 2005. Ron and Nancy started life together. Ron being born to the cattle and Nancy having to learn it. Both had a love of the outdoors and being in all kinds of weather from dust storms to blizzards. They had feedlots in Fruita, Carbondale, Glenwood Springs, and Kremmling. Later returning to Delta to retire in 1990. Ron and Nancy had another love-a love of the gospel serving various callings serving as ward and stake missionaries and traveling to different areas.
