(Delta County | May 19, 2020) - Delta County Daily Update

UPDATED Testing Information: Delta County Health Department is reporting 0 new cases; our total case count remains at 55, with 51 individuals now recovered. This is the eighth consecutive day of reporting no new cases of COVID-19 in Delta County.

36 individuals have tested positive; 19 individuals have been in close contact with an individual who tested positive, and have experienced COVID-19 symptoms, and one death is being reported.

To date, 754 tests have been administered in Delta County; 34 tests are pending.

Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) put out clarification on COVID-19 death data reporting last week, and explained that up until Friday, May 15, its data dashboard included deaths among all people who had COVID-19 at the time of death. This included deaths caused by COVID-19 and deaths among people who had COVID-19 at the time of death, but the cause or causes may not have been attributed to COVID-19 on the death certificate.

This is the standard way states report to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Going forward, the state will present both numbers: Deaths among COVID-19 cases and deaths due to COVID-19.
