Hello, I hope everyone's healthy, well and handling all this weirdness ok. The board of directors of the Creamery would like to let you know that they've decided to try to "re-open" the Creamery on Friday, June 12th.(If all goes well between now and then and the State/Federal authorities deem it safe.) The "re-opening" will be gradual and cautious with rules in place to ensure the safety of our employees, volunteers, artists, and customers. The gallery hours will be reduced (at first) to Thursday-Saturday, 11:00am- 5:00pm. No one is certain what the future holds with this terrible sickness and I hope/ask everyone to please be patient if we have to change/reschedule our plans.
I would also like to thank our members, volunteers, board members, and everybody who made last year a very special/wonderful one. The Creamery would not be here except for your support and generosity. I think 2020 could be the best one yet! That being said, I would like to encourage everyone to please continue to help the Creamery by volunteering a tiny bit of your time and energy. It can be overwhelming at times to maintain the facility (inside & out), the art, have events/openings, classes, ect. without some volunteer assistance. This is your art center and let's make it the best it can be! Give Rich or David a call 970-872-4848 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org and we can discuss these opportunities together. This would also be a wonderful time to swap out art and place some new work in the Creamery (once again, please call Rich or David for a time to meet at the facility.)
We are currently trying to figure out the logistics of events, openings, ect. and are trying to come up with guidelines, safety precautions and all other things we must consider in this new world.
David and Suki are also going over the same consideration for their children's summer art classes and David's adult pottery classes for the safety of our precious teachers and students. (for example I think you will have to "pre-sign up" for classes to help ensure a safe number of students per class) We'll send out another announcement very soon about classes. We are always looking for interesting/fun classes by our artist members. Call/talk to Rich or David about teaching a class or even giving artist demonstrations on certain days/events later in the year when we have a better idea of safety, ect.
The March "Creamery Arts Center Student Art Show" will be on display until the beginning of July, because of the shut down. This is a phenomenal show with some of the best art by children we've ever had on display. Please drop by and see this art show when we open!
In conclusion, I hope this horrible sickness allows us to stay on schedule and we all stay healthy. I'm sorry this has taken so long for an update, but we just haven't been sure what's going to happen and I thank you for your patience. I will continue to do my best in keeping you informed and up to date on news, updates, and events at the Creamery.
Sincerely, Rich Powell
