Rural Philanthropy Days in Paonia, June 13 &14. Ride the Rockies in Hotchkiss, June 13.  Restaurants and shops in Hotchkiss and Paonia may want to be prepared to do some extra business. Storytime for Babies, Tots, and Preschoolers at the Hotchkiss Library.  Wednesdays starting at 10:30am. Join us for stories, activities, and crafts downstairs in the Hotchkiss Library. Contact the Library at 399-7781 for details.

 

Teen Jeopardy! – A Universe of Stories.  Teens are invited to Hotchkiss Library to explore a universe of knowledge!  If you have an interest in astronomy, space-themed movies, or space-themed books, this event is for you!  Test your knowledge of the universe in this space-themed Jeopardy game: A Universe of Stories.  Teens will compete against each other in a round of Jeopardy, answering questions on topics as far flung as the furthest planets in the universe.  Snacks and prizes will be provided for all participants with additional prizes for those who can decode our clues!  Wednesday, June 19 at 3:00pm.

 

Hotchkiss Book Club.  Join the Hotchkiss Book Club!  This month, the Hotchkiss Book Club will be discussing “Tales of Ravens Nest” by Joseph Colwell. Thursday, June 20 at 2:00pm.

 

Blast off to the Planets.  Kids are invited to Hotchkiss Library and together we’ll blast off to the planets.  We will learn about the planets, play “Guess the Planet” game, go outside to “Jump to Jupiter”, watch a weightlessness demo, exercise with “Beans in Space” and create our own “Strange New Planet”.  Tuesday, June 25 at 2:00pm.

 

NASA Made That?  Adults are invited to Hotchkiss Library to learn about all the surprising inventions we use every day that we can thank NASA for.  Enjoy some fun activity sheets and take home your own moon sand!  June 24 through 27 during library hours.

 

Space-Themed Art Display.  Visit the Hotchkiss Library in June and July to view space-themed artwork by Hotchkiss High School students.

 

Tech Café.  Hotchkiss Library offers an open Tech Cafe for all ages and skill levels to seek tech assistance with computers, tablets and phones. The first and third Mondays every month from 3:00pm to 4:00pm.

 

Knitting Group.  Do you knit or crochet?  Join us for ideas, help, and good company the second and fourth Thursday of every month at 10:30 AM.  Anyone is welcome to join!  Contact Hotchkiss Library for more information at 399.7781.
